A hollow structural section column bears on a concrete wall via an embed plate measuring nine inches by five inches by one-half inch. The connection uses two three-quarter-inch diameter anchor bolts with full penetration welds to the embed plate. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the hollow structural section to the embed plate. The hollow structural section tube may be shifted where needed at the end of panels maintaining a four-inch clearance.
