A bolted steel column splice connection uses outer and inner splice plates installed at the column web and flanges. Pre-tensioned bolts are placed in standard holes across the connection assembly. Loose fill plates are provided as required to accommodate fit-up tolerances and gaps. Additional plates are positioned on each side of the column web for load transfer.
