A cold-formed steel built-up header spans to double jamb studs using an extended web fastened with eight number 10 screws on each side. The header is constructed from 600S162-43 members with 1200S162-43 members on each side, framed by 600T150-43 or 358150-43 top and bottom tracks attached with number 10 screws at 6 inches on center to each flange and 12 inches on center to each web. The web is bent and secured with four number 10 screws typically at the top and bottom. Additional studs are positioned on top of the header, and an extra 600S162-43 stud at 6 inch wall or 358S162-43 at 3 and 5/8 inch wall is provided.
