Steel deck bears on bent plates made of ASTM A36 steel with 3-inch by 3-inch legs supported by wide-flange steel beams. Shear studs of three-quarter inch diameter are typically spaced at twenty-four inches on center maximum unless noted otherwise. For angles and webs less than or equal to one-quarter inch thick, one-half inch diameter by four-inch studs are used at twelve inches on center. The deck spans in either direction as indicated on plans, and roof deck installation follows similar criteria.
