An eighteen-gauge plate is secured to the metal deck using number ten sheet metal screws spaced at six inches on center each way around the vertical pipe penetration. The square plate dimensions scale from twelve inches with a four-inch diameter opening up to thirty-six inches with a twelve-inch diameter opening based on the penetration size.
