Additional reinforcing bars are provided at discontinuous joints and re-entrant corners in concrete slabs on ground to control cracking. Two number five bars measuring six feet in length are placed at the slab mid-depth across discontinuous construction or sawed joints. Similar reinforcing bars are detailed for placement at re-entrant corners of openings or slab depressions.
