This concrete slab construction joint features smooth A36 steel rod dowels bridging across the joint interface. A one-eighth-inch sawcut is made after the adjacent slab is placed, complete with joint filler and sealant. An optional Dramix steel fiber reinforcement layout designated as D/4 or D/3 is included within the concrete. The slab rests upon a prepared sub-base.
