A wide-flange column bears onto a reinforced concrete footing with a four-inch non-shrink grout layer beneath the base plate. A buckling restrained brace connects via a gusset plate welded to the column base assembly, with gusset plates, welds, and brace connections installed per manufacturer specifications and approved shop drawings. Side plates measuring one inch by required length plus two inches are welded to each side of the base. Four rows of three-quarter-inch diameter by nine-inch long welded studs are spaced at eight inches on center, totaling sixty-four studs across the embedded assembly. Number four ties at four inches on center confine the concrete reinforcement below the base plate.
