A structural steel davit support assembly is detailed at a corner column using support angles and a square base plate. The davit socket pedestal sits atop a three-quarter-inch thick square plate measuring twelve inches minimum, which can be increased in size as required. Two angles sized L8x4x1/2 long legs vertical act as diagonal braces beneath the pedestal. Connections are welded using three-eighth-inch fillet welds, maintaining a two-inch minimum clearance. The supporting beam and column sizes are determined per plan.
