A structural detail features a tie rod plate connection framing into a wide flange beam sized per plan. Four diagonal tie rods anchor to gusset plates positioned at the corners of the connection assembly, maintaining a typical minimum clearance of one and one-half inches. A stiffener plate is welded to three sides along the web of the wide flange beam to reinforce the concentrated loads. The tie rod is attached with pin-ended hardware spaced three inches from the edge. All structural steel components and rod sizes are detailed per plan.
