A wide-flange steel column welds to a base plate of thickness T sized per schedule with five-sixteenths fillet welds. The base plate rests on a one-and-a-half-inch nominal layer of non-shrink grout supported by a concrete foundation. Leveling nuts or steel shims sit below the base plate for elevation adjustment. Four headed anchor rods with washers and nuts secure the assembly, maintaining a minimum bolt projection and one-and-a-half-inch minimum clearance from bolts to the column and base plate edge. An optional one-inch diameter max grout hole is centered in the base plate.
