A structural steel beam splice connection is aligned along the column centerline. The connection utilizes an A572 Grade 50 steel plate bolted to the beam web with four rows of bolts. Stiffener plates are welded to the assembly above and below the connection using a half-inch fillet weld applied to the top and bottom.
