A shear plate is welded to a supporting girder web or column flange to receive a connecting beam web at a skewed angle ranging from 0 to 60 degrees. Fasteners and shear plate thickness are sized per schedule, with a hardened washer required on the beam web surface. Minimum edge distances and dimensions are calculated based on bolt diameters and skew angles. Weld sizes and maximum angle thresholds are specified for ranges between 0 and 60 degrees.
