A buckling-restrained brace connects directly to a gusset plate assembly using bolted connections, framing into a steel beam supporting a metal roof deck. A gusset plate attached to the underside of the steel beam is included, with the gusset and attachment designed by the buckling-restrained brace supplier. One-half-inch beam web stiffeners are provided on each side, supplemented by additional web stiffeners as required by the brace supplier. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch secure the internal stiffener plates to the beam web.
