A concrete housekeeping pad bears on a slab on grade beneath mechanical equipment. The 6-inch minimum pad features a 3/4-inch chamfer at vertical corners and a 1/2-inch radius at horizontal edges. Reinforcement consists of No. 3 bars at 12 inches on center each way, supplemented by No. 3 dowels with standard 90-degree hooks spaced at 12 inches on center at the perimeter and 24 inches on center each way at the interior. These dowels are set into 1/2-inch diameter by 4-inch deep drilled holes cleaned and anchored with epoxy in place. Concrete cover is maintained at 3/4 of an inch typically, with pad thickness ranging from 4 inches minimum to 6 inches maximum.
