A box header connects to a cold-formed steel jamb stud using a plate on each side matching the header gauge and depth, secured with three number ten sheet metal screws each side for a total of six. Alternatively, the header web can be extended on each side to the jamb stud in lieu of a separate plate. Top and bottom clips made of L2x2x12 gauge angles matching the stud depth attach to the box header with three number ten sheet metal screws each face.
