A structural steel column and buckling-restrained brace connect to a base plate anchored to a concrete footing. The base plate rests on a layer of non-shrink grout above the top of the footing. Anchor rods pass through the base plate with heavy hex nuts and plate washers, threaded at the top with a minimum projection and embedded with double heavy hex nuts at the bottom. Shear keys extend downward from the base plate into formed keys in the concrete footing, reinforced with equally spaced reinforcing bars. Footing reinforcement and dimensions are provided per schedule and plan.
