This structural detail establishes geometry and hole-type criteria for a three-eighths-inch thick steel shear tab connection plate. For connections utilizing five or fewer bolts, either standard holes or horizontal short slots are permitted. Connections with six or more bolts require horizontal short slots. Minimum edge distances, maximum dimensions, and typical three-inch vertical bolt spacings are detailed on the support.
