A structural steel column intersects framing beams sized per plan, with steel deck omitted for clarity. Two number five reinforcing bars are placed with one inch of typical clearance from the top of the slab and terminate with hooks at the slab edge where applicable. The slab edge at the exterior column aligns with the grid line at a typical distance of two feet six inches.
