An exterior concrete column rises from a concrete footing, tied with dowels matching the vertical reinforcement in the column above. A concrete slab-on-grade terminates at the column via a blockout filled with expansion joint filler material and a control joint. A concrete curb is located beyond the exterior slab or grade, which sits at a minimum thirty inches above the footing base. The foundation components consist of poured concrete footings and slabs bearing on prepared subgrade.
