This structural detail shows a wide-flange beam connecting to a hollow structural section column encased in concrete with a bond beam. The steel beam attaches using a connection plate measuring 1 3/7 inches by 26 inches by 36 inches with Grade 50 steel, secured by erection bolts as required and welded on three sides with a complete joint penetration weld at the plate. A concrete encasement extends four feet above the floor finish and surrounds the column and bond beam assembly. Slab reinforcement follows the structural framing plan alongside reinforcing bars in the bond beam.
