A steel stair stringer bears onto a thickened slab on grade and connects via an L3x3x1/4 angle secured with three-quarter-inch diameter by eight-inch expansion anchor bolts at each stringer. The slab features a two-foot wide thickened section that extends a minimum of one foot six inches past the stringer. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld on three sides connects the stringer to the angle bracket.
