A mechanical screen post base connection to a structural steel beam and hollow structural section column. The assembly features a base plate anchored to a WT shape per plan, with concrete on metal deck above. A hollow structural section column connects to the beam flange using a base plate detailed per Q/S5.10. An L6x4x5/16 angle is attached to each side of the hollow structural section with 3/4-inch diameter through-bolts centered in long-slotted holes at the bottom. A bottom flange brace or beam connects via welded angles with 1/4-inch fillet welds sized 2-8. Note 1 specifies a plate replacing the angle on the far side of the hollow structural section at similar conditions.
