A nine-inch thick concrete slab on grade bears on a poured concrete wall supported by a concrete footing. A continuous number four rebar runs along the top of the wall with transverse number four reinforcing bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. The joint between the slab and exterior slab or grade is coordinated with architectural drawings, while trench drain locations are coordinated with civil drawings. A one-quarter-inch roughened surface is provided at the cold joint between the wall and footing. The concrete footing extends a minimum of thirty inches below grade.
