Cold-formed steel framing track connects to a steel deck without concrete fill using self-tapping sheet metal screws in parallel and perpendicular orientations. For parallel deck alignments, a continuous 54-mil by six-inch wide plate spans over three flutes and fastens with number twelve sheet metal screws to each flute, while the track secures to the deck with number eight sheet metal screws centered in vertical slots on each side and number twelve screws at twelve inches on center. For perpendicular deck alignments, the track connects directly to the underside of the steel deck flutes using number twelve sheet metal screws spaced at twelve inches on center.
