Roof or floor opening reinforcement in metal deck construction includes angle framing at wide-flange beam conflicts. L3x3x3/16 structural angles are secured at each low flute of the metal deck using 1/2-inch diameter expansion bolts with a 3 1/2-inch embedment. Two low flutes are extended minimum on each side of the opening. Additional reinforcement is provided at cores up to 18 inches maximum and at wide-flange beam conflicts with 3/16-inch welds.
