A structural steel column base plate connection plan measures 2 feet 2 inches by 1 foot 9 inches. The assembly features a 2 and 1/2 inch thick ASTM A572 Grade 50 base plate with a specified rolling direction. Six anchor bolts are distributed around the column profile, each equipped with a 5/8 by 5 by 5 inch plate washer containing a standard hole. Five-sixteenths inch fillet welds are specified on two opposite sides of the weld washers. A complete joint penetration (C.J.P.) direct current weld connects the column flange.
