A cold-formed metal framing wall stud bears against a composite slab on a wide-flange steel beam. A rigid connection designed by the cold-formed metal framing supplier resists gravity and lateral loads at the top of the wall. A vertical slip connection designed by the supplier resists lateral loads only further down the stud. A kicker brace connects the steel beam to the framing assembly as required per sheet 10/S-553. Composite slab reinforcement is omitted for clarity.
