A cantilevered beam connects to the flange of a steel column via a three-quarter-inch by eight-inch end plate welded to the beam web and flanges with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. The end plate is secured to the steel column with quarter-inch fillet welds of six-inch length along its top and bottom edges.
