All slab reinforcement shall be continuous through the control joint. Reinforcement size varies with slab thickness "D": number 3 bars at 12 inches on center if thickness is less than or equal to 2-1/2 inches, number 4 bars at 12 inches on center if thickness is between 2-1/2 and 4-3/4 inches, and number 5 bars at 12 inches on center if thickness exceeds 4-3/4 inches. The steel deck spans in either direction with span length "Ld".
