Two secondary steel beams frame into a supporting steel girder from opposite sides using bolted shear tabs. A structural tee section matches the flange width of the supported beam and is welded to the underside with a quarter-inch fillet weld when beam depth differences exceed one inch. A one-inch maximum clearance is maintained at the flange transition. Complete penetration welds connect the top and bottom flanges. Weld backup plates are omitted for clarity.
