Framing for a roof deck opening under 16 inches wide occurs at an exterior bearing condition. The assembly features an L3x2x1/4 by 3 foot 8 inch long leg horizontal angle centered on the opening. Three half-inch self-drilling screws are fastened in two valleys on each side of the opening. Five-eighths-inch diameter puddle welds secure the deck to the edge member per structural notes.
