A wide-flange beam frames into a supporting girder with a variable drop height specified per plan. The connection utilizes a connection plate of thickness t sized per schedule, bolted with standard center-line bolts and reinforced with a five-eighths inch web plate on the opposite side of the connection plate. The supported beam top flange is blocked or coped on one side as typical. Fillet welds of three-quarter inch and one-half inch sizes secure the plates and web components as indicated.
