An HSS beam connects to an HSS column using top and bottom L4x4x1/2 angle profiles matching the column width. The angles are welded to the HSS column with five-sixteenth-inch welds on both sides. A quarter-inch weld is applied to three sides at the beam flange connection, maintaining a maximum half-inch clearance between the beam end and the column face.
