A structural steel column connects to beams with a column cap plate measuring 1-1/4 inches thick and two 3/4-inch thick stiffener plates. C10x25 channels measuring 1'-0" long are secured with two 3/4-inch diameter erection bolts. A 3/8-inch by 4-inch by 1'-4" backing plate is fastened with two 3/4-inch diameter erection bolts. Complete joint penetration welds and 5/16-inch fillet welds secure the plates and members to the column and beams as indicated.
