A concrete slab over a steel deck bears on a continuous steel angle connected to a steel embed plate cast into a concrete shear wall. The embed plate is secured with three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch long headed stud anchors at specified spacing. The continuous deck bearing angle is welded to the embed plate with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. A continuous reinforcing bar is placed at the deck bearing. At the contractor's option, a construction joint with a roughened surface to one-quarter-inch amplitude is provided at the wall interface.
