A structural steel column connects to a three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch square embedded base plate set within the elevator pit wall. The base plate is anchored using four three-quarter-inch diameter by eighteen-inch long welded anchor bolts. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld joins the column to the embed plate. The column and wall sizing are specified per the structural plan.
