An existing concrete shear wall connects to a new concrete shear wall overlay using number six epoxy-coated dowels spaced at twelve inches on center. The dowels embed six inches into the existing concrete with a lap length of two feet. Typical wall dowels tie the vertical reinforcement between the existing structure and the new overlay.
