A rectangular steel base plate is welded beneath a wide flange column with anchor rods positioned outside the column profile. Edge distances vary based on anchor rod diameters, requiring two and one-half inches for up to one and one-half inch diameter rods, three and one-half inches for up to two inch diameter rods, and four inches for up to two and one-half inch diameter rods. The anchor rod pattern is symmetrically distributed around the column centerlines.
