This connection joins a W12x40 beam to a supporting W12x40 column flange. A 3/8-inch plate is welded to the column web with 5/16-inch fillet welds. The beam is further reinforced with 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 14 1/2-inch plates at the top and bottom flanges. The connection assembly is configured to provide structural continuity between the beam and the column.
