An HSS post is welded to a half-inch by five-inch by one-foot base plate secured to a concrete slab, deck, or curb with four half-inch diameter mechanical anchors providing two inches of embedment. Ordinary studs are fastened to both sides of the post at twelve inches on center using powder-actuated fasteners, with the first fastener positioned a maximum of six inches from the stud ends. Metal track framing abuts the post on either side per the stud wall schedule.
