An HSS purlin frames into a structural steel beam supporting a metal roof deck above a metal stud wall. A hollow structural section blocking member connects the purlin to the beam using three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A deep top track provided by the supplier braces the metal stud wall while maintaining a one-inch gap below the roof assembly.
