A bent plate measuring one-quarter inch by one foot three inches is anchored to the underside of the concrete slab using two one-half inch diameter expansion anchors with three and one-quarter inch embedment spaced at one foot on center. A structural angle measuring L4x3x5/16 by nine inches long is welded to the bent plate with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds at each end. A masonry bond beam wall bears below with a typical top-of-wall gap. Notes permit an alternate flat plate with two welded angles at the contractor's option and specify centering the angle between expansion anchors when nominal wall thickness exceeds eight inches.
