A CoreBrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a structural steel column and steel beam through a gusset plate and welded connections at the floor level. Stiffener plates are welded near the column flanges and along the steel beam as required by the brace manufacturer. The gusset plate thickness and specific weld sizes are designated per engineering design. A work point is established at the intersection of the framing members. Similar connection details apply at the brace top connection.
