A 400S137-54 cold-formed steel brace connects perpendicularly to a structural steel beam using a 1/8-inch plate welded to the beam flange and web with 1/8-inch fillet welds. The brace fastens to the plate with four number 10 self-tapping sheet metal screws. A second detail shows the brace connecting to a metal deck via a 14-gauge bent plate secured with number 10 self-tapping sheet metal screws at each flute with a minimum of three total.
