An HSS2.5x0.250 structural steel post connects to an HSS3X3X1/4 standoff member, capped with a one-quarter-inch plate matching the hollow structural section dimensions. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the cap plate to the post. The standoff rests on a one-half-inch by five-inch square bearing plate, joined with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld. The assembly terminates at a ten-inch by six-inch by three-eighths-inch base plate secured by four Simpson screws.
