A structural steel beam features a circular web penetration with a maximum diameter of five inches to accommodate a pipe with a maximum diameter of three inches. The centerline of the hole aligns with the centerline of the pipe, positioned with specific vertical clearances from the top flange. A three-eighths-inch thick by three-inch wide by twenty-four-inch long stiffener plate is welded to each side of the beam web at the penetration using a quarter-inch fillet weld.
