An MC12 channel beam frames into a W12 column via a 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 0-foot-8-inch plate welded with 3/16-inch fillet welds. The beam web connects to the plate with two 7/8-inch-diameter ASTM A325-N bolts. The opposite side of the column flange ties into a 1/2-inch bent plate secured with five 7/8-inch-diameter ASTM A325-N bolts. A wide-flange beam also frames into the lower portion of the column per plan.
