A new wide flange beam frames into the web of an existing wide flange beam via a single plate shear connection with three bolts. The shear tab size is referenced on the drawings, and the new beam size is per plan. A one-quarter inch fillet weld secures the connection, and a concrete slab on metal deck bears above the supporting assembly.
