Boundary reinforcing connects at the top of a foundation footing for a concrete shear wall. Vertical wall reinforcing bars extend from footing dowels, spliced together using mechanical couplers. Typical boundary reinforcing and wall reinforcing are detailed with horizontal boundary ties extending into the footing. The edge of the shear wall is positioned with a typical three-inch clearance, and vertical dowels match the vertical reinforcing size and spacing.
